Tiger Woods is taking another week off from his 2019 tournament schedule, opting to skip the Wells Fargo Championship in a surprise decision.
Woods, still basking in his Masters victory, is typically a staple draw for the Charlotte, N.C., tournament. His absence has led to some injury speculation after video surfaced of Woods limping after accepting his fifth green jacket in April. But the golfer's agent has since refuted those rumors, saying Woods is "still digesting and appreciating what happened" at Augusta.

Nonetheless, the Wells Fargo Championship loses a lot of its luster without Woods in the field.
Only three of the world's top 10 golfers — Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler — will play at Quail Hollow. Jason Day, whose last PGA Tour victory came here in 2018, is also a part of the field. Other prominent names include Phil Mickelson, Tony Finau, Paul Casey and Patrick Reed, as well as past champions Brian Harman and J.B. Holmes.
